Memories from Lani Walker

Pat was always an optimist and looking on the bright side. Once when we were singles in the Stanford Singles ward Pat was working on a diet. She was enjoying success in the endeavor. Later she loved to tell the story of when her mother came to visit and as they were leaving the apartment one day her mother asked her to stop so she could wipe a smudge off from below her cheek bone. But her mother had been mistaken because it was really just a shadow created by the newly sharp definition of her facial features because of the success of her diet. It gave her great joy.

Other of my fond memories of that time include a to-die-for ward choir led by Pat and a happy group that got together to play recorders. Pat is the kind of person that leaves a big hole in our hearts by her passing but who also fills us up with fond happy memories at the same time.
Love and condolences from Lani Walker
